VetCLIN AMR Proficiency testing assay
Proficiency testing facilitates harmonisation of laboratory methodologies and strengthens AMR surveillance.
As part of the VetCLIN AMR project, funded by the Veterinary Medicine Directorate, we are offering a free proficiency testing scheme for bacterial identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing of isolates from companion animal clinical specimens (cats, dogs and horses).
Proficiency testing is an important tool for improving the quality and comparability of laboratory results and provides an opportunity for laboratories to assess and update their internal methodologies. Proficiency testing enables the generation of harmonised antimicrobial susceptibility data and thus supports national and international AMR surveillance efforts.
The VetCLIN AMR free proficiency testing scheme was initially offered to laboratories participating in the project and is now open to all laboratories processing companion animal clinical samples for bacterial culture and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
If would like to take part in this free proficiency testing assay, please contact Professor Dorina Timofte.
