Research
Our practice and hospital team aims to respond to a wide variety of challenges in equine health and welfare and to contribute to evidence-based medicine in equine veterinary practice.
This includes using information about the horses that we treat as part of their routine healthcare to determine how effective treatment is (if another treatment or management approach is better) or to identify new conditions or disease outbreaks more quickly.
Leahurst equine practice is now taking part in the Equine Veterinary Surveillance Network (EVSNET).
EVSNET collects de-identified data from electronic health records (i.e. general patient information from horses that we treat that does not contain any names of owners or other information that could identify you or your horse).
If you do not wish for your horse’s data to be used for this purpose, please contact the EVSNET team.
