Outpatient services

We offer a range of medicine, surgery and orthopaedic outpatient services as well as bespoke clinics.

Medicine and surgery outpatient services

If you are looking for assistance with a medicine or surgery case, or transport to our hospital is proving difficult, we are happy to offer help at your clinic. Our boarded medicine specialists can provide high quality referral-level diagnostics and treatment at your practice.

We have a hands-on approach to clinical cases and can provide this peripatetic service on specific organised days.

Our medicine outpatient services include:

  • Ultrasound advanced ophthalmology
  • Intradermal allergy testing PENs treatment standing
  • Ocular procedures - for enquiries (Harry Carslake) 07812238409.

Our surgery outpatient services include:

  • Laser mass removal (site visit required, see our services terms and conditions (PDF, 33KB)
  • Castration standing airway surgery
  • Ultrasound guided injections (i.e. cervical facets)
  • Dynamic endoscopy (at Leahurst or suitable facilities) Price £350 for one horse. Each additional horse reduces the price by £50 per horse.

Small mass removal clinic: simple masses, such as small sarcoids and melanomas that can be removed in standing horses. Price £550.

Orthopaedic outpatient services

We offer out-patient lameness clinics. Any straight forward unilateral lameness case which doesn't relate to poor performance can be fully assessed by our orthopaedic specialists. 

Clinics at Leahurst

We offer bespoke set price clinics and procedures based at our world-class hospital facility. 

Post-surgical colic exam

6 to 8 weeks post-op check. This checks appropriate recovery from surgery to sign the horse off for paddock turnout.

Pain clinic

Run by specialists in anaesthesia and analgesia, the pain clinic service is aimed at any horse with ongoing pain, e.g. poor performance, horses following back surgery, or other axial skeletal treatments, or arthroscopy. The service will focus on acupuncture and will include other physical therapies, focused shockwave therapy, and medications.
