Preparing for your visit
Please review the appointment checklist below. Find out what to bring with you for your visit and what you will need to verify in advance. We appreciate that for emergency appointments, some details or equipment may need to be provided after admission.
Your horse's belongings
Please bring any medications, feeds, or supplements your horse may need during their stay, along with clear written instructions on how you would like them to be given.
Your horse’s headcollar and lead rope will be labelled and kept with them. We have a selection of our own rugs so you may not need to leave these at the hospital.
Your horse’s passport
Legislation now requires you to bring your horse’s passport with them for their hospital appointment. Please ensure the declaration in Section IX of the passport has been completed and the declaration stating that your horse is NOT INTENDED for human consumption is signed (due to receiving medications as part of veterinary treatment such as painkillers and other drugs required).
Insurance documents
Prior to your appointment, please check your insurance policy carefully to understand what your horse is insured for. If your horse is insured, please bring your policy certificate and, if relevant, a claim form with you. You are advised to inform your insurance company about your horse’s appointment at the hospital prior to the appointment or for emergency admissions, at the earliest possible opportunity.
Deposit payment
If your horse is not insured for veterinary fees or has an exclusion on their policy for the treatment or procedure, a pre-payment of £1,000 will be required at admission. We accept cash and all major debit and credit cards.
