Additional Test Report Forms and Enquiry on Results

Additional Test Report Forms (TRFs)

Additional copies of your Test Report Form (TRF) can be sent directly to test users: academic institutions; government agencies; professional bodies; and employers.

Please complete and return an Application for Additional TRFs form to ielts@liverpool.ac.uk.

Each IELTS on paper test taker will be issued with one paper copy of their TRF - this will be sent by Royal Mail standard post to the address indicated in the application, in the first instance, and is free-of-charge. For TRFs that do not arrive by standard mail (lost in the post), a second free-of-charge copy may be requested by the test taker by emailing ielts@liverpool.ac.uk. In this instance there are two options:

a) The test taker or an authorised representative can collect in person from the test centre by prior arrangement. The ID used to register for the test must be shown upon collection of the TRF. Incorrect ID or no ID means the TRF will not be issued.

b) The test taker must pay for secure courier* of the TRF to the address indicated in the application. UK courier costs £16.00. EU courier costs £18.00. Worldwide courier costs £28.00.

Each IELTS on computer test allows you to download your own e-TRF from within your online account. Paper TRFs are no longer issued for computer tests.

From the point of registration and for up to 2 years following the test date, test takers can request centres to send TRF results electronically or by post to organisations of their choice. There is no administration fee for this service. Courier postage costs apply to all posted items - *for TRFs sent by courier, please provide a contact telephone number and/or email for the test user, as test users may not accept items without this information.

Electronic results (eTRFs) can only be sent directly to the organisation listed in the application.

Replacement TRFs due to incorrect/incomplete address or changing address without notifying us prior to the test are charged at £35 and can only be issued once. Please note: test takers cannot request extra copies for personal use.

Enquiry on Results (EoR)

Enquiry on Results (EOR)

If you are not entirely happy with the score you receive, and wish to appeal against your IELTS test score, you can apply for one or more sections of the test to be marked again. This is known as Enquiry on Results (EOR), and ordinarily you must apply for this service within six weeks of the test date. There is a fee of £118 for this service.

You receive a full refund of the EOR fee if the score on any section increases. There is no refund if your scores do not change.

  • Log in to the Test Taker portal and click on ‘completed’ exams tab, and then on the date of the exam you want to request an EOR for.
  • Choose the Results tab to display your test results.
  • Scroll all the way down and click on the hyperlink ‘I would like my test to be re-marked’ to request the test remarking.
  • Here you will see a brief overview of the remarking and the EOR fee.
  • Select the modules you would like to have remarked, and provide a justification for your request. If the deadline for applying for an EOR has passed (six weeks after the test date), you should also contact the test centre directly at ielts@liverpool.ac.uk – if requested, you may need to upload supporting documentation.
  • At the foot of the page you must agree to the Terms and Conditions before clicking ‘Pay online’.
  • Make payment.

At this point we will begin the process. Please note, if requesting/paying outside of office hours, no action will be taken until the next day of opening (office hours: Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Once the payment is processed, your chosen sections are sent to the British Council to be marked by a senior examiner.

The outcome of your Enquiry of Result (EOR) can become available on the same day as your application and up to 21 days after your application. The turnaround time of your application will depend on several factors, including the number of sections requested for remark. Please contact the test centre if you have not received a response after 21 days.
