About

Personal Statement

Sebastian Timme is a Reader in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Liverpool, after completing his PhD in 2010, with secondments to DLR Göttingen (2010) and BAE Systems Filton (2016-17). He has published more than 70 journal and conference papers on the subject of computational aerodynamics and aeroelasticity, model order reduction and machine learning. His main interest is in fast simulation tools for routine industrial application of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) in the multidisciplinary aircraft loads and aeroelastics context. He implemented some of these methods into the DLR-TAU software tool, which is a CFD code widely used in the European aerospace industry and academia, and he was invited to contribute to the next-generation CFD code.
