About

Personal Statement

After completing my degree in Industrial Engineering (Carlos III University of Madrid, Spain), I studied for an MScEng in Energy Generation and a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering (University of Liverpool, UK).

My research has been focussed on the development of new materials and devices for microelectronics. I obtained my PhD in early 2018 for my work on the growth and characterisation of novel high-k oxides on GaN for power electronics with Dr. Richard Potter and Prof. Paul Chalker. As part of my PhD, I worked 18 months at A*STAR Institute of Materials, Research and Engineering (Singapore), where I undertook research on the microfabrication and characterisation of GaN-based power transistors. Following my PhD, I took up a Postdoctoral Research Associate position at the University of Liverpool with Dr. Ivona Mitrovic, where I furthered my research on the synthesis of new gate oxide stacks down to the 5nm node. From late 2018 to early 2022, I worked at Liverpool John Moores University, where my research was concerned with the development of new lead-free solders for power electronics and automotive applications.

I joined Matt Rosseinsky’s group as a Research Associate in early 2022 continuing my work on novel thin-film materials. My expertise is in functional thin film deposition and advance materials characterisation techniques.
