Faculty of Health and Life Sciences
The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences is focused on improving health and well-being worldwide through research, innovation and education. The Faculty’s expertise in areas such as infectious diseases, global health and clinical pharmacology allows it to maintain a focus on tackling the biggest health-related challenges faced by humanity today.

Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is home to our world-class education and research in areas from the arts to law and social justice. It is home to some of the most prominent research expertise in the UK, as well as delivering industry-leading educational experiences to students across disciplines from architecture and history, to law and management.

Faculty of Science and Engineering
Our Science and Engineering Faculty is dedicated to discovering solutions to the most complex challenges facing the world today. The Faculty is home to expert research and education in a range of vital areas, from computer science to mechanical and aerospace engineering. The Faculty utilises knowledge and a desire to learn to drive innovation that makes a difference to the world we live in.

The University is home to two campus libraries, each of which hosts a huge number of books, journals and articles that help enhance the studies and research carried out here. Our libraries also offer a wonderful collection of leisure reading materials and are open to students, staff, alumni and other members.
We have two main libraries on campus. Each of these are aligned with different subject areas to make it easier to find the materials you need for your studies or research.
Professional services and support
Alongside our academic departments, our professional services provide a wide range of management and support services, all working towards our wider goals and objectives.
Our professional services staff are located across academic departments, as well as operating in several other key operational areas, including IT, external relations, HR, finance and legal, governance and strategic planning.

The University is led by our Vice-Chancellor and Senior Leadership Team. They play a vital role in setting strategic objectives, working towards our goals and making key decisions that impact the future of the University and the people who study, research and work here.

How decisions are made
The University is governed by the Council. It has ultimate responsibility for the management of the University and the key decisions made.
It is supported in its endeavours by the Senate, to which it delegates many academic governance matters.
Both the Senate and the Council are supported by a range of specialist committees.

Liverpool University Press
Liverpool University Press (LUP) is the UK’s third-oldest university press, having published exceptional research since 1899.
LUP is a subsidiary of the University of Liverpool. It produces approximately 200 books, around 50 journals, and several digital collections every year. Its publications span a range of subjects, but the Press specialises in languages, history, literary and film studies, urban planning and earth and climate sciences.
