From Welcome to Graduation: The XJTLU Student Journey

At the University of Liverpool, our community marks the milestones of our students' journeys, from the first moments of welcome to the grand celebrations of their success.

In December 2025 our 2+2 programme students met for a festive celebration in Liverpool, ahead of a well-earned break from studies until 2026. This is one of many opportunities students have throughout the academic year to join together, celebrate and embrace the experience of living in a different culture. 2+2 and 2+1+1 cohorts have access to various different community and student-led events, which are bookended by Welcome and Graduation celebrations.

Each autumn, our campus buzzes with excitement as we host a welcome reception for new students. This cherished event is more than just a formality; it's the foundation for the transformative years ahead.

Students are greeted by senior university leaders and academic staff, who share their enthusiasm for the journey beginning. The air is filled with conversation and the spark of new friendships, as students from diverse backgrounds find common ground. It’s a pivotal evening where anxieties fade and are replaced by a sense of belonging and anticipation for the academic adventure.

This event sets the tone for a supportive and collaborative community, ensuring every student feels valued and inspired from day one.

A Grand Finale: Celebrating Success and Looking Forward

After years of dedication and hard work, the journey culminates in a spectacular celebration: the XJTLU Graduation Ball. This is a night where students, dressed in their finest, come together to reflect on their accomplishments and look ahead to bright futures.

Held in a beautifully decorated venue, the ball is an evening of dinner, dancing, and unforgettable memories. It's a time to honour the resilience and success of our graduates. The event embodies the culmination of their hard work—a formal and joyous farewell that marks not an end, but a brilliant new beginning.
