Free activities
Therapy dogs on campus
Join us on Wednesday, May 14, from 12 to 2pm, as we host Therapy Dogs Nationwide. This national charity sends volunteers with their dogs to offer comfort, distraction, and stimulation. Contribute now to support the work of Therapy Dogs Nationwide.
31 miles in May
Celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week and take on our 31 Miles in May challenge! Let's move together and walk, jog, run or cycle 31 miles throughout May. Record your activity on the Steps App and share your achievements with us by tagging @livunigym in your pictures.
Run for All
Run For All is a weekly organised running group where you can come along and run with like-minded people, meet new friends, keep active and have fun.
Whether you're a seasoned runner or just getting started, the Run for All sessions are open to everyone – students, staff, and the wider University community! It’s the perfect chance to stay active, de-stress, and connect with fellow members of our campus.
When and where:
Mondays at 6pm - Lawrence road and University square
Tuesdays at 6pm - Greenbank student village
Thursdays at 12pm - Outside Sports and Fitness Centre
Sundays at 10am - Brookhouse
All abilities welcome – no registration required!

Outdoor workouts
Take your training outside with our free outdoor bootcamp classes at the container gym to help you achieve your health and fitness goals. The sessions, run by the gym team will include a range of equipment including kettlebells, barbells, ropes and slam balls.

Relaxation Classes
As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, running from 12 - 18 May, we’re inviting all students and staff to slow down, unwind, and recharge with a series of FREE relaxation classes designed to boost both your mental and physical well-being.
Sessions include:
Monday: 7:30am - 8:15am - Stretch with Jen
Tuesday: 7:30am - 8:15am - Pilates with Jen
Wednesday: 7:30am - 8:30am - Vinyasa Yoga with Rownak
Friday: 8:00am - 8:50am - Qigong with Damian
Saturday: 9:00 - 10:00am - Vinyasa Yoga with Rownak
Spaces are limited and on a first come, first served basis. Contact our reception team to book your place. Our full class timetable is available here.
Turn up and Play
Boost your fitness and activity levels while meeting new people, all without any commitment. Our turn-up-and-play sessions are completely free, with equipment provided for all sports, and are designed to fit your schedule. Boditrax - Located in the gym, our body analysis machine assesses your body and very quickly delivers 14 different measurements, such as your ideal weight, your BMI and your metabolic age, as well as your fat and muscle mass. It’s completely free to use to everyone, and you can download the Boditrax app to keep track of your results! Come along anytime and ask a member of the gym team for any help.
