2025 was busy in the best possible way.

The Small Animal Teaching Hospital had the privilege of caring for 3,659 much-loved pets - 3,112 dogs and 547 cats - across 10,060 appointments.

From routine referrals to complex, life-changing cases, our teams worked every day to support pets and the people who love them. Our most requested department, Internal Medicine, saw 812 pets (625 dogs and 187 cats), helping owners find answers when things weren't straightforward.

Over the year, 712 surgeries were performed, with patients ranging from the smallest anaesthetised dog at just 700g to the largest at 62kg - a reminder that every pet, no matter their size, receives the same level of care and attention.

Behind the scenes, our hospital teams answered 42,520 phone calls, offering guidance, reassurance and updates. We dispensed 64.55 litres of shampoo to keep patients comfortable and well cared for during their time with us.

Every number represents a pet who mattered, owners who trusted us and a team committed to providing specialist care with compassion at its heart. We're grateful to everyone who was part of our 2025 and we look forward to continuing that care into 2026.
