About

Verity has worked in Higher Education for 18 years and joined the University of Liverpool (UoL) in 2015 as Head of Operations for the School of Environmental Sciences, a strategic role providing high level leadership and management to the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

Verity leads the School’s Professional Services team, working in partnership with the School Dean and other members of the Faculty Management Team (FMT) to contribute to and ensure alignment and engagement with the overall vision for the University and its priorities.

Verity is responsible for ensuring the School’s strategy is supported by clearly defined operational and financial plans, policies, procedures and budgets and to ensure that the academic vision and professional services functions are strategically aligned. The School’s portfolio includes activity in Liverpool’s partnership university in China XJTLU as well as significant external partnering with other HEI’s, Industry and Charity’s in both Research and Teaching. There is also significant regional collaboration and Sustainability focussed activity. Health and Safety and compliance are also key responsibilities.

Verity is committed to ensuring equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility is embedded in all the School's activity. Verity was a key contributor to the Schools recent Athena Swan Gold Award (2025). Verity is proud to be the representative for Professional Services on Council, the University’s governing body.
