R.C. obtained his PhD (summa cum laude) in 2011 and his Habilitation in 2022 from Saarland University, Germany. His early research focused on electrocatalysts for chlorine production, working with Bayer MaterialScience AG. Later, he did his postdoctoral research on Li-ion batteries at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and Helmholtz Institute Ulm, Germany. From 2015 to 2019, he led the development of electrolytes for redox flow batteries at Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) Europe/Saarland University in Saarbruecken, Germany. In 2020, he joined the Rosseinsky Group, University of Liverpool, as a Research Coordinator in Electrochemistry and Materials Chemistry.
