About

I am a Public Advisor Researcher with EquaDem Network Plus which focuses on bringing together diverse academic, lived experience (people living with dementia, and unpaid carers) professionals (health and social care)and voluntary sector expertise to discuss and co-develop solutions to inequalities in dementia and diagnosis and care.
Led by the University of Liverpool and co-led by the University of Newcastle, Equdem approach is grounded in co-production—ensuring that research is developed with people living with dementia and their carers.
My role involves contributing to review of papers, systematic reviews, and discussions across the network with a focus on sharing all experiences of the dementia community and to support ongoing research.
My working background has been in Banking and Finance for 30 years and other roles within the business community. I have extensive caring experience having cared for both my parents who had different forms of dementia ultimately leaving my job to undertake this, I am passionate about supporting the team in undertaking further research which will benefit improvement in care and diagnosis of dementia and ultimately erode the inequalities which currently exist.
