Teaching
Chia-Lin is a Follow of UK Higher Education Academy. She has extensive teaching experiences inurban planning and design at both undergraduate and postgraduate in the UK (University of Liverpool, 2018-TODAY) & University College London, 2006-2015) and China (XJTLU, 2015-2018).
Her teaching covers a wide range of subjects, including planning theory, sustainable urbanism, international planning, research methods, infrastructure and transport planning, strategic plan-making, professional skills for planners.
She has organised student competition (e.g. Blackpool South Regeneration) and contributed to field-class teaching including international field trips to Amsterdam (2013), Manchester (2014), Singapore (2016), Warsaw (2019), Glasgow (2022), Lille (2023), Paris (2025).
In addition to university teaching, she has developed an interdisciplinary executive education course on high-speed rail and oversea development for the China Railway Rollingstock Company (CRRC), commissioned by the International Business School Suzhou (IBSS) and delivered Suzhou (2017-2018) and London (2019).
PhD supervision opportunities
