Blackpool Teaching Hospitals is a 767-bed acute hospital situated on the Fylde Coast. It operates within a regional health economy catchment area that spans Lancashire and South Cumbria, supporting a population of 1.6 million.
The Trust is a provider of specialist tertiary care for Cardiac and Haematology services across this region.

The Trust also provides a wide range of community health services to half a million residents of Blackpool, Fylde, Wyre and North Lancashire.

    The Blackpool Medical Society:

    The Medical Society makes Blackpool unique. It was established in 2011 to bring a sense of community for the students who study here. It is led by fifth years and holds regular meetings to discuss new ideas for social events. All students are welcome to attend the meetings and contribute their ideas.

    In 2016 the following events were organised:

    • Trip to Manchester Christmas markets
    • Blackpool Christmas markets
    • Christmas pantomime
