The original red brick, the School of Medicine is based in Cedar House on the University of Liverpool campus.

As a globally-connected University, we have a number of campuses and partnerships across the world; our main campus is located in Liverpool city centre.

Opportunities available throughout the year for potential students to visit the School of Medicine and University of Liverpool, usually on an open or taster day.

However, you’re unable to visit in person, our virtual open day allows you to to explore the campus remotely.

Visiting the School of Medicine

Cedar House is building no. 360 on the campus map, on Ashton Street, in our North Campus.

Nearby landmark buildings you may be familiar with include the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, the Dental School and Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.

The nearest visitor car parking to Cedar House is on Brownlow Street, off Pembroke Place, Grid Reference C9 on the campus map. 

Visiting from out of town

  • If you require overnight accommodation, contact Liverpool Tourism Information who provide a free accommodation booking service.
  • Please view the University directions and guidance on visiting us by road, rail, coach, ferry and air

If you are considering applying to study medicine at the University of Liverpool I would like to personally extend an invitation to you to come and visit us at one of our open days or taster days.

Here at Liverpool you will receive a warm welcome. Staff and students work together to ensure that a visit to Liverpool provides you with an authentic experience of the University and the MBChB programme. You will have the opportunity to ask questions of current students as well as to meet the Medical School team at the University and some of the many expert clinicians across the region who work closely together to teach and support our medical student community.
