Personal Statement

Kostas Pappas is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Accounting. Before joining Liverpool University, Kostas held a lecturer position at Loughborough University (2017-2019) and the University of Southampton (2015-2017). Kostas holds a Ph.D. from Alliance Manchester Business School, The University of Manchester, where he was the recipient of scholarships from both the University of Manchester and the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). Kostas research interests are mainly in the area of market-based accounting, including earnings quality, debt contracting, and corporate disclosure. Kostas work has been published in the British Accounting Review, Journal of Banking and Finance, and International Journal of Finance and Economics. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Kostas also serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for Accounting and Business Research, The British Accounting Review, Journal of World Business, Spanish Journal of Finance and Accounting, Journal of Applied Accounting Research.
