Frank Sidebottom Preservation

In collaboration with David Arnold, Manchester’s Archives+ and 11:37 Enterprises the photogrammetry team built a 3D digital replica of the Frank Sidebottom head so that it could be digitally preserved.

This was to mark the 10th anniversary of the passing of Chris Sievey, the comedian behind the Frank Sidebottom persona.

Frank holds special significance for the North West of the UK and the photogrammetry team were extremely happy to help in this digital conservation and preservation of this NW cultural icon.

The involvement of the ACE photogrammetry team was serendipidously fitting as in fact Chris Sievey had a love of Egyptology and it occasionally featured in his comedy.
