Institute of Popular Music Launches New Podcast
The Institute of Popular Music, part of the School of the Arts, has launched a brand new podcast. In this pilot episode, University of Liverpool's academics discuss the Institute's archive. In particular the collection of Robert Pring-Mill which features sound recordings, posters, albums and ephemera surrounding politically committed songs from Chile by artists including Víctor Jara and Violeta Parra.

Management School's Dr. Jorge Hernandez Presents H2020 Cross-Faculty RUC-APS Results in Brussels

University of Liverpool Filmmaker Shortlisted for Prestigious National Award
A film made by Dr. Chen-Yu Lin from the University of Liverpool and Charlotte Sawyer has made the shortlist for the Arts and Humanities Research Council’s prestigious 2018 Research in Film Award. Their film,‘George Harrison, The Story of the Beatles and Indian Music Performance Teaser', will, therefore, be a contender for the Social Media Short Award.

Professor Claire Taylor Appointed to GCRF Strategic Advisory Group
Congratulations to Professor Claire Taylor who is amongst five new members who have been appointed to the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) Strategic Advisory Group. The new members with varied backgrounds from academia and international development have been appointed for an initial two years to provide advice and support to the GCRF.
