In this section, you can read more about the students and graduates who have had their entrepreneurial ideas kick-started by an award from the Enterprise Fund in our previous round of funding.

Hannah Arhinful – Hannah Arhinful Art

Hannah Arhinful Art is small business that sells original art and prints to local businesses, homeowners and interior designers in Liverpool, making stylish wall art affordable to everyone. Hannah was awarded the Enterprise Fund to buy new equipment as well as develop an AR showroom to add to her online shop.

“A major highlight for me and the business over the past few months has been increasing our sales and seeing our business vision coming to life with the help of the Enterprise Fund.

Moises Barbera Ramos – Drill Surgeries

The surgical drill is a new device that aims to improve intramedullary nailing surgeries (a common surgery aimed to weld broken bones) and reduce the identified excess of X-rays that are normally used, therefore reducing the costs, the exposure to radiation, and the risk of complications in patients.

Thanks to the Enterprise Fund, Moises and his business partner, Dr Javier Coloma, were able to establish a strong online presence by creating a website to showcase their progress, as well as work on a market research survey. With the funding, they also plan to 3D-print some prototypes and continue their research.

“Thanks to the Enterprise Fund we are one step closer to making intramedullary surgeries safer and more efficient, improving how healthcare is provided to patients while protecting our doctors and nurses.”

Omar Elsayed – Welcome Rookie

Welcome Rookie is a team-based card game for medical students that facilitates experiential learning by embedding the theories of medical ethics into engaging and playable stories.

Omar used the funding he was awarded to cover the costs of developing a companion augmented reality app, and to participate in the European Conference on Games Based Learning, where his card game placed second!

“This is a brilliant scheme that I really appreciate receiving to help me take my game to the next level.”
