A full list of available PhD projects is available here. Browse the opportunities, find a project that aligns with your interests and ambitions, and contact lead supervisors if you would like to discuss a project before applying.

Some projects include industrial or external partners, offering additional experience in real-world R&D environments and opportunities to engage with cutting-edge technology.

Training and research environment

DAMC CDT students benefit from:

  • An integrated training programme in digital chemistry, automation, data science and advanced materials characterisation
  • Access to outstanding experimental and computational facilities
  • Opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration across chemistry, materials science, computer science, engineering and data/AI
  • A supportive and active cohort environment with events, workshops and skills development throughout the PhD

Funding

Studentships cover:

  • Tuition fees at the UKRI rate
  • A maintenance stipend at the UKRI rate
  • A Research Training Support Grant (RTSG) for consumables, travel and training

These studentships are available to both UK and international applicants (subject to UKRI eligibility and allocation rules).
