This module is the capstone of the Executive MPH, enabling students to design and deliver an independent research project that addresses a significant public health issue within their professional context.
Students apply advanced analytical, methodological, and critical appraisal skills developed across the programme to produce an original 8,000‑word dissertation supported by supervisory guidance. Alongside this, students compile a 2,000‑word Professional Development Portfolio that reflects on their learning journey and its impact on their professional practice.
Learning is supported through the Virtual Learning Environment, supervisory meetings, and research skills resources, enabling students to work flexibly while undertaking substantial independent study. The module provides an authentic opportunity to integrate theory, evidence, and practice, demonstrating the ability to generate actionable insights for public health improvement.
