Code: ULMS560

Credits: 20

Semester: Semester 1

Entrepreneurs typically display a great passion for the innovative products or services their ventures offer and how they create value for customers and society at large. However, when talking to potential investors, many entrepreneurs and innovation champions within organisations feel insecure and nervous to convincingly plan and pitch the financial details of their venture. This module will help students—future entrepreneurs and innovators—to build confidence in communicating with different investors by understanding core financial jargon and familiarising themselves with basic accounting and financial planning skills including methods of valuing their venture at different stages, understanding suitable investment options and consequences for business governance and growth, as well as developing convincing business cases and budgets for entrepreneurial ventures within and outside of existing corporate structures.
