Ruiyong joined the Rosseinsky Group as a Research Coordinator in electrochemistry in 2020. He received his Ph.D. degree (summa cum laude) in 2011 from the Saarland University, Germany, working on electrocatalytic chlorine production with Bayer MaterialScience AG. Later on, he did his post-doctoral research on cathode materials for Li-ion batteries at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and Helmholtz Institute Ulm, Germany. From 2015 to 2019, he led the development of new electrolytes for redox flow batteries at Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) Europe/Saarland University in Saarbruecken, Germany. He started his habilitation in 2016 at the Saarland University.
