The Jekyll and Hyde chatbot is an AI-driven conversational chatbot developed in collaboration with the School of Allied Health Professions and Nursing that talks through ethical scenarios with the student.

In it’s "Dr Jekyll" mode, the chatbot has a measured and rational personality, aligned with ethical reasoning, but mid conversation shifts to its “Mr Hyde” persona to generation intentionally unethical, questionable or morally ambiguous viewpoints in response to clinical ethical scenarios that are discussed in the classroom. By discussing these perspectives with the students, the chatbot enables them to engage with difficult or uncomfortable lines of argument, without requiring the student to voice them themselves.
