Professor Daniel Colquitt, MMath. PhD, FIMA, FHEA

Daniel Colquitt is Professor of Applied Mathematics and Head of the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Liverpool, and a member of the Waves and Continuum Mechanics research group. His research focuses on the mathematical modelling of wave propagation in complex media, including mechanical, acoustic and electromagnetic systems, and he works extensively in highly interdisciplinary teams across science and engineering.
He is currently an appointed member of the University Senate, having previously been an elected member, and has held a number of academic leadership roles within the University, including Head of Teaching and Chair of the Board of Studies in Mathematical Sciences, as well as serving on key education and assessment committees at School, Faculty and University level.
Beyond the University, Daniel is a Trustee of the University of Liverpool Maths School (where he is Link Governor for Mathematics) and a member of the Programme Committee of the International Centre for Mathematical Sciences. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications and a member of the London Mathematical Society. His research involves close collaboration with industry and government partners in areas such as underwater acoustics, non-destructive evaluation, and physical modelling.
