Information for international students

If you’re joining us as an international student, make sure you’re prepared for coming to Liverpool with our pre-arrival activities. We also hold a range of events when you arrive on campus to help you settle in.

Before you arrive

Ensure that your visa and other documentation are in order. Find all the information you need about visas and immigration.

Join our Get Ready for Liverpool webinars. This series of live, interactive sessions provides useful content that will help you prepare for joining us. You can register to watch them live or on-demand.

Check your emails regularly for information about securing your place on our Meet and Greet airport transfer service, booking your international registration appointment and completing your academic registration.

On your arrival

Once you arrive in Liverpool, you will need to complete your International Registration on campus. We’ll send you an email with more information about this before you arrive, which will include a link to book a slot to meet with our teams.

Arriving in Liverpool before Welcome Week? We’ll be running campus tours between 10am and 3pm on Friday 18 September to help you explore your new home. Just drop into our table on The Street, inside the Liverpool Guild of Students building, located at grid point F7 on the University campus map (PDF), and we'll get you on the next available tour. Starting at 10am, tours will depart from this location every 30 minutes.

After you arrive - Welcome activities

Before your studies begin, our International Advice and Guidance Team (IAG) host Hello International! (Hi!), a series of events specifically for international students. Sessions will help you find out more about the support and opportunities available to you as an international student, and learn more on key topics such as budgeting and working part time alongside your studies.

All Welcome activities will help you to settle in quickly and feel at home in Liverpool, meet new friends and ensure you make the most of your time here and enjoy your Liverpool student experience.
