MusicFutures Scholarship for International Intellectual Property Law LLM
The School of Law and Social Justice invites applications for up to five scholarships to study the LLM in International Intellectual Property Law.

Up to five scholarships are available, each worth £11,700 in the form of a tuition fee discount.
About this scholarship
The MusicFutures Scholarship for International Intellectual Property Law LLM is awarded through the University of Liverpool's groundbreaking new programme, MusicFutures, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. MusicFutures brings together academics and creative industry partners to deliver a programme of equality focused/inclusive research and design led innovation and business development for the Liverpool City Region.
Operating out of a hub at the Arena and Convention Centre Liverpool, MusicFutures will foster collaboration with a variety of partners to generate sector insights and career pathways for increasing diversity and representation for existing and future artists and music professionals.
Eligibility
The ideal candidate for the MusicFutures Scholarship will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Funding is a barrier to your academic ambition
- A strong interest in intellectual property law
- An undergraduate degree in a relevant field (law, music, social science and other related fields)
- Strong research skills
- Understanding of inequality, through lived experience or education/practice
- Strong interpersonal skills, confident in engaging with a range of stakeholders
- Clear and thoughtful written communication, with the ability to produce engaging and accessible outputs
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.

Therefore, students from underrepresented backgrounds, or those who believe they would face barriers when entering the world of work, are strongly encouraged to apply. We will use the Positive Action provision (Equality Act 2010) on selection decisions between candidates of equal merit.

- Personal statement (1-2 pages) (detailing how you meet the ideal candidate criteria).

Course start date: Monday 15 September 2025 (induction week).
