Seoul, the capital of South Korea. A futuristic metropolis, where skyscrapers and kpop meet royal palaces and street markets. In just 50 years since the Korean War, Seoul has become the world's 10th-most economically powerful city and second-largest metropolitan area. Seoul is a vibrant city – even more so when the sun has set and its population is eager to go out and have fun. Seoul is doing a fabulous job in keeping Korean culture and traditions alive. Take the National Museum of Korea, for instance. It displays over 12,000 artifacts in six permanent exhibition sections, including medieval and early modern history, calligraphy and painting, sculpture and crafts and Asian arts. You can also experience culture first-hand when wandering through areas like Bukchon Hanok Village, a lovely neighborhood made up of traditional Korean houses.

 

University Information

Seoul National University (SNU), the first national univerity in Korea, is a prestigious seat of learning, founded in 1946. Ranked in the top 100 universities in the world according to the Times Higher Education rakings, SNU combines the highest quality academic experience with capital city living. It has a student body of over 16,000 students based on the largest campus in Seoul.
