AI and data infrastructure
Professor Simon Maskell, Cross-Cutting Theme Lead
As part of the development of the facility, RUEDI will involve artificial intelligence to help maximise the effectiveness of data analytics and machine learning. RUEDI will also create a digital twin for the instrument to locate, assign and support users for the facility.
Working with several institutes, RUEDI will co-sponsor Digital Twins, Data Science and Computational Imaging.
RUEDI will leverage technology to control the machine and provide data in an accessible format. The experimentation will require a significant level of technical expertise, and a goal of the facility is to provide cross-disciplinary characterisation services by the technical staff in biology, chemistry, physics, and data handling and analysis.
