About

I am a molecular biologist with an interest in cellular oxygen-sensing and expertise in functional genomics. I studied Biochemistry at the University of Birmingham and completed my PhD at The Centre for Gene Regulation and Expression, University of Dundee, under the supervision of Professor Sonia Rocha, where I investigated transcriptional regulation in hypoxia (low oxygen). I joined the University of Liverpool in 2017 as a Research Associate in the lab of Sonia Rocha, within the Department of Biochemistry, Cell, and Systems Biology, and made seminal discoveries into how chromatin responds to changes in oxygen levels. I am currently investigating the relationship between RNA regulation and hypoxia.
