About

Joanne is a Senior Lecturer in Dental Therapy with over 25 years experience in dentistry. Having previously been the Co-director for Undergraduate Programmes at the University of Liverpool, School of Dentistry, Joanne Is now the Vice-Dean for Learning. With leadership roles within the school she has been heavily involved with the development and the delivery of the Centennial Curriculum. Where BDS and BSc Dental Therapy students are fully integrated for the first three years of their programmes, interprofessional education is at the heart of this innovative curriculum.
Having worked up to an MA in learning and teaching in higher education Joanne has a keen interest in assessment and particularly programmatic assessment.
Joanne gained SFHEA recognition from the University of Liverpool in 2018 and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2021.
As an experienced examiner Joanne has had external examiner roles over the last ten years.
Externally Joanne is Chair of the British Association of Dental Therapists (BADT). She is also the Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy Programme Directors group treasurer and has previously been Chair for the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry Merseyside Branch.
