Teaching Experience and Expertise
Dr Xia has taught across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the University of Liverpool and Heriot-Watt University, leading and contributing to modules in product design, user experience (UX) design, product development, digital design, innovation management, creative programming, enterprise, and final-year project supervision. His teaching combines research-led education with industry collaboration, enabling students to develop creative, evidence-based solutions to complex design challenges. He has also contributed to curriculum development, programme leadership, admissions, and postgraduate research supervision, supporting educational innovation across design and engineering disciplines.
