Professional activities
Currently based in South Africa, Dr Charani is involved in research and capacity strengthening in several countries, including South Africa, India, Norway where she collaborates with different institutions. She was previously on the Executive Committee of the ECCMID ESGAP as the research lead. She is a Contributing Investigator to Wellcome Trust Centre for Infectious Diseases Research in Africa (CIDRI-Africa). She was an Emerging Leader of the International Society for Infectious Diseases. She is an Academy of Medical Sciences UK-India AMR Visiting Professor. She is on the Advisory Committee for One Health Trust Africa.
