Becoming a Heritage Institute affiliated researcher
All active heritage researchers at the University of Liverpool are eligible to formalise their institute membership via a process of affiliation.

The process is straightforward. If you wish to affiliate, simply drop an email to heritage@liverpool.ac.uk with the following information:
• Name, department and role
• A brief outline of your heritage related research interests
• An indication of what you would hope to achieve through a collaboration with the institute.
Join the PGR Heritage Network
Are you a Postgrad student in the Heritage field?
We would like to invite you to join our network. As part of the network, we can support your growth and journey in the sector by providing opportunities to develop your skills. There may be opportunities to join our steering group to gain and understanding of the Institute structure and its governance. There is also the chance to run events that are PGR centred in both leadership and/or content as well as to meet others in your field to make friends and new connections.

DigHumSS is partnership-based and impact-driven, providing training for partnerships with heritage and conservation bodies, which is relevant to the heritage activism I'd like to do to advocate for the preservation some of the assembly rooms at risk of decay or destruction. DigHumSS, the DIF, and the new National Centre for Digital Heritage Research amplify Liverpool’s strengths in digital research and heritage, creating a collaborative and supportive research environment for my career development, and will allow for the exploration of virtual and augmented reality presentations of my data for public engagement. I am also particularly interested in the possibility of hosting a place-based workshop at the Institute, to examine the importance of physical spaces and places as part of heritage and history research. |

The cultures of the remote past create a wider framework of reference that can help to forge links between fissiparous contemporary groups. I have also been involved in the preservation and promotion of UK heritage. I live in Chester, in an area of the city that has very strong links to the past, within a conservation zone. Over the next few years, I will be involved in the promotion of all of these forms of heritage, as well as in some new projects, which explore ancient and contemporary consumption. This includes one PhD project, and some mature ideas for grant funding. |
