Personal Statement

Kate is Head of Research Development and Delivery and works with the APVC Research and Impact, Professor Claire Eyers, in leading the Research and Impact Directorate within HLS. Since the Faculty restructuring Kate has led a programme of strategy and operational development to drive a sustained improvement in research administration; a more inclusive research culture; and ultimately to improve our research performance for societal impact. Kate is responsible for ensuring that the R&I Directorate provide efficient and effective support for our research endeavours across a broad and complex portfolio including research governance; strategy, planning and performance; partnership and bid development; pre and post award management; the management of research centres of excellence; translation and impact pathways; research ethics and integrity; public engagement and postgraduate research student experience. Kate works extensively across the organization to bring strategic and functional alignment. Kate has for several years played a very active and passionate role in promoting equality, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing leading on several projects to drive positive change both within UoL and across the sector.
