For a decade, the University of Liverpool and East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) have had a successful partnership collaborating mainly in Chemistry and Materials Sciences on both education and research. Professor Andy Cooper, FRS, was elected as a Foreign Fellow of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2023, affiliated with ECUST.

Located in the southwest of Shanghai the East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) is a dynamic and prominent research-intensive university with high teaching quality. The university offers a wide range of programmes across 11 disciplines.

PhD mobility programme

PhD students at the University of Liverpool have the opportunity to apply for a PhD mobility programme for summer school activity at ECUST. The summer school programme provides students with the chance to develop new technical and soft skills, gain vital international experience to boost their employability, and gain a better understanding of other cultures.
