Events
Methods North West lunchtime sessions
University of Liverpool are a research and methods collaborator with five other institutions across the North West of England. Weekly opportunities for more informal discussions around methodological innovation and development are available through the Methods North West Lunchtime Sessions.
Engage@Liverpool facilitates University of Liverpool contributions to the online MNW Methods Lunchtime Sessions series.

National Centre for Research Methods
As a National Centre for Research Methods (NCRM) Centre Partner, the University of Liverpool contributes to a range of short courses and online resources.
Recurring short courses via NCRM Liverpool include Participatory Action Research, Qualitative Diary Methods, Creative Ethnographies and Oral History Theory. Details of all NCRM upcoming courses, including the engage@Liverpool contributions, can be found on the NCRM Training Catalogue.

Methodological Innovation and Development Award Scheme (MIDAS)
Proposals are invited from University of Liverpool academics and postgraduate researchers for methodological innovation and development funding through engage@liverpool via its Methodological Innovation and Development Awards Scheme (MIDAS).
MIDAS support activity in three areas:
- Research-focused workshops/events emphasising methodological and intellectual innovation
- Practice- or impact-focused workshops/events seeking to engage people, communities and organisations
- Short-course and advanced methods training workshop development.
With a rolling deadline throughout the academic year and up to £500 available to support with these opportunities, engage@Liverpool are keen to hear more about the research you are doing and supporting it where we can.

Methods North West: Methods Labs
Methods North West: Methods Labs offer opportunities for postgraduate and academic researchers to come together to work intensively for a concentrated period around methods or methodologies. Normally running for half or full days, the Methods Labs format is dynamic and flexible, and Methods North West will support those delivering the Labs to ensure they are configured effectively as well as providing funding.
With a rolling deadline throughout the academic year and up to £2000 available to support with these opportunities, engage@Liverpool is keen to hear more about the research you are doing and supporting it where we can.

Methods North West: Catalyst Grants
Methods North West has set aside a fund for collaborative projects events, initiatives, workshops and symposia to support cutting-edge developments in research methods across the North West. Catalyst Grants are intended to support creative proposals that speak across disciplinary pathways and research fields and that evidence how the NWSSDTP is taking a lead in the application of cutting-edge methodology regionally, nationally and internationally.
With deadlines across term one and term two with up to £6000 to support with these opportunities a successful proposal much be genuinely collaborative, persuasively innovative and meaningfully inclusive of postgraduate research students and their development.
