Chetan Parmar
Developing the readout of the detection system for the MAGIS and AION experiments
Chetan Parmar studied an integrated masters degree in physics at the University of Liverpool, graduating in 2025. He was first exposed to the field of atom interferometry through an internal placement with the particle physics laser lab, where he helped to determine the effectiveness of a vibration isolation system. His masters project focused on constructing, installing, and characterising a two-stage state detection system for the interferometer at Liverpool.
His research project involves developing advanced imaging systems for the MAGIS and AION collaborations and includes a secondment to the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory to explore the feasibility of performing atom interferometry in space. In his spare time he enjoys exploring and spending time in nature.
