Applied Research Methods in Radiotherapy

Code: RADT226

Credits: 15

Semester: Semester 2

This module allows learners to apply research knowledge gained at level 4 to a real-world research exercise through preparation of a research proposal, which serves as the first stage towards development of their final research dissertation in Year 3.
Learners will apply their academic and practice placement knowledge and experience to identify a research question relevant to modern radiotherapy and oncology practice. The module will engage learners with evaluation of research methods and the processes for designing a comprehensive research strategy.

The 2,500-word proposal will focus on an aspect of radiotherapy or oncology, and will task learners with formulating an appropriate research question, and planning and justifying the method for data gathering and analysis.
