Condensed Matter Physics II

Code: PHYS302

Credits: 15

Semester: Semester 1

In this module, students will get the opportunity to explore some of the most fascinating states of matter, including superconductivity and magnetism. We will introduce some of the most famous models to describe these states and see how these concepts emerge from an understanding of the basic structural and electronic properties of solids. The ideas of this module will be connected to contemporary research topics in condensed matter physics and real-world applications, including quantum sensors and magnetic resonance imaging.
