Business Analytics and Digital Tools

Code: MKIB216

Credits: 15

Semester: Semester 1

In an era where digital technologies are fundamentally reshaping international business, this module equips students with both theoretical understanding and practical skills to lead the digital revolution in global commerce. Students will understand how big data, artificial intelligence, and digital platforms are disrupting traditional internationalization patterns while also develop rigorous proficiency in STATA statistical software and quantitative research methods that employers desperately need.
Through hands-on analysis of real international business datasets, students will explore how digital capabilities have become critical competitive advantages—understanding why born-global startups can conquer markets at unprecedented speed while established multinationals struggle to adapt. The module places equal emphasis on strategic thinking and analytical execution: students will engage with cutting-edge IB research published in the world's leading journals while simultaneously developing the technical skills to conduct their own rigorous empirical investigations of contemporary business challenges.
At the same time students will engage with critical issues about ethical considerations such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, and responsible AI deployment across borders.
