Plans are key instruments of the planner’s toolkit. This module provides an introduction to the methods and techniques that are used in the preparation and implementation of making plans and how these have evolved in time. The module will be delivered through interactive lectures focussing on the theory of plan making drawing on practical examples from planning practice in the UK. The module is assessed through a more theory-focused short essay and a plan review reflecting on the practice of making plans.
