This module invites students to engage with key concepts and controversies in the contemporary study of Classics and Ancient History. Case studies provide an introduction to the wider stream of intellectual debate and to a range of topical, theoretical and methodological approaches that continue to inform the discipline and its relevance for the modern world. In addition to building subject-based knowledge and understanding, the module also prepares students for examining concepts and controversies in Classics and society more widely.
