Building on the skills and knowledge acquired in CLAH641 and CLAH642, this module covers higher elements of Latin grammar, continuing to use Shelmerdine’s textbook Introduction to Latin (or an equivalent if the instructor prefers). Morphology will be consolidated from previous modules, but the emphasis will be on increasingly complex syntactic constructions, translation of sentences into and out of Latin. As well as passages, students will begin to read more extended sections of Latin reading material.
