For this course the University has secured funding from the UK Office For Students to offer eight scholarships of £10,000 each to students from under-represented groups studying this programme.

My name is Orion and I am an Eritrean citizen who currently lives in Glasgow, Scotland. I have been living in the UK since 2013. I have about 10 years work experience (both foreign and UK ) and am a mature student.

Before this course I studied Statistics at the University of Asmara, Eritrea and hold a BA Degree for that. I also hold a Diploma of Higher Education in Data Analytics from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.

I found out about the Scholarship for this MSc as I was actively searching on the web for a decent masters degree program in Data Science, and came across the University of Liverpool's program which I found to be very nice, because of the important modules and the fact that it intertwins AI with Data Science. I then learned that it also offers OFS Scholarship to minority groups and disabled students. The process for applying was a very short and straightforward application form, which was much easier and shorter than I expected.

The best part about the course is the fact that it's a good conversion path, as it teaches all the necessary ingredients a Data Scientist needs. The modules are all really good and important. As a whole the course is demanding with a busy schedule, and plenty of assignments and group work.

For me, the University of Liverpool has helped me by providing all the necessary student services whenever I need them. For example the student wellbeing and welfare services.

Outside of studying I am a father of 2 children, and so I assist in looking after them. I also do occasional Interpreting work.

My future plans are to get my masters done, and work in the healthcare tech sector or perhaps Sports AI field.
