Dr Alexey Sergeev Ph.D. in Chemistry

Personal Statement

Alexey Sergeev obtained his undergraduate degree from Saint-Petersburg State University and his PhD degree from Moscow State University (2005, Prof. Irina P. Beletskaya, Dr Galina Artamkina), Russia. After a short stay in industry, he conducted postdoctoral studies with Prof. Matthias Beller at Leibniz Institute for Catalysis, Rostock, Germany (2006-2009). In 2009, Alexey moved to the United States to join the group of Prof. John F. Hartwig at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and then at the University of California, Berkeley. In 2012, Alexey returned to Europe to start his independent career at the University of Liverpool and the Stephenson Institute for Renewable Energy as a Lecturer in Chemistry.
