Background

After his undergraduate studies, in 2016 Alessandro Frasca moved from Sicily to Milan to join Politecnico di Milano. Here he got his bachelor degree in Materials and Nanotechnology Engineering in July 2019, with a project dealing with atomic force microscopy of films and nanostructured surfaces.

Alessandro continued his studies at Politecnico di Milano attending the master degree in Nuclear Engineering and graduating in December 2022. He developed his master thesis project during a technical student program at CERN, where he studied the collisional losses in the Large Hadron Collider for Pb-Pb and p-Pb operation, via simulation tools and data analysis.

Alessandro joined the QUASAR Group in April 2023 and is now back at CERN to do research for his PhD program in affiliation with the University of Liverpool. His work consists in a radiation study for the Future Circular Collider during electron-positron operation.
