About

Dr. Mohammad Amir is currently serving as a Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) at the School of Engineering, University of Liverpool, working on a UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Innovate UK project focused on advanced energy storage systems and decarbonization using intelligent techniques. He currently serves as the Lead Principal Investigator (PI) of the EPSRC-SuperAIRE and UKRI Impact Acceleration Projects. Dr Amir is the recipient of the 2025 Early Career Researcher (ECR) Award and Grant under the Supergen AI+RE program funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

He previously served as a Lead Principal Investigator and National Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Energy Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, India. Dr. Amir also worked as a Research Assistant on a SPARC project in the Advanced Power Electronics Research Laboratory at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), Delhi, in collaboration with Aalborg University, Denmark. From 2019 to 2021, he was a Visiting Faculty member at NSUT, University of Delhi, and a Visiting Research Associate at Qatar University on the NPRP project. A recipient of the GATE, UGC, and MHRD fellowships, Dr. Amir was listed among the Top 2% of Scientists worldwide (in Artificial Intelligence and Energy) by Stanford University (USA) and Elsevier in 2024. He is currently an Associate Member of the International Society of Energy and Built Environment (Australia), the Autonomous Vehicles and Systems Group of ASME (USA), the International Society for Energy Transition Studies (Australia), and the Society of Chemical Industry in the Battery Storage domain (UK). He also serves as a Professional Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), UK, and contributes as a Research Outreach and Professional Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), USA. Dr. Amir was awarded the Global Talent recognition by UK Research and Innovation.

His research interests include renewable energy integration, smart microgrids, advanced energy storage, electric vehicles, and AI-driven energy management.
